The Undecided is a creative publication that was started in 1994 by a group of Plan II students at the University of Texas at Austin. Throughout the years, The Undecided evolved from a newsletter to a newspaper to eventually becoming a unique combination of creative and comedic journalism, writing, and art.
Since 2010, The Undecided has been on an unfortunate hiatus, but has been revived as a publication just in time for its 20th anniversary.
We believe that the creation of art is meaningful in and of itself. Yet, in a world where we have become more disconnected and isolated from each other, it can be hard to find the motivation, know the proper skills, or be inspired to create new, beautiful things.
The Undecided has been brought back to help facilitate this process. We know that what has, and what always will, make up The Undecided is the haphazard group of people coming together to express themselves with their personalities, interests, and skills. We hope that by providing a community and opportunity to create, that many more people will be able to find that kind of personal satisfaction that only making something yourself can bring.
This publication is not restricted to any particular format, and we hope to create projects across all artistic media so members can try new things and better learn to express themselves creatively.
Whether you are a contributor or reader, we hope that you see the individual works and projects published by The Undecided as a love letter to humanity’s unstoppable desire to create. Please enjoy.
Sincerely,
The Staff of The Undecided
